The İndependent Hotel

I am very disappointed by the level of quality, service and cleanness of the hotel. The only advantage of the hotel for tourists is to proximity to Tasksim square.

1. After booking online and received confirmation & deducting the rent amount from my credit card, I was informed by the hotel (upon arrival) that my reservation is cancelled & that they have sent an email to this effect. Very bad experience i had so far.

The staff are very nice and accommodating. They cleaned our room everyday. The location is perfect! Walkable to Istiklal Street where you will find various options of coffee shops and restaurants, boutique shops and malls are walkable as well.

We had a small issue with the shower heater on the last 2 days of our 11 nights stay, though they were able to resolve the issues immediately.

The hotel is located very close to Taksim Square and the central Istiklal Street.It is very close to Taksim and the metro station.Although it is a very noisy neighborhood, the hotel windows let in very little sound.It is cleaned every day.The room was very high up, which allowed for fresh air all night long, even when sleeping with the window closed.

It is only possible to go up to the second floor by stairs.

The hotel was excellent in every way! Central location, clean and tidy rooms, polite and helpful staff. The price was very reasonable for the services provided. There was also a cozy little café in the lobby where you could enjoy a coffee or tea and relax. It was a great experience!

Proximity to Taksim square

Noise level was horrible! If you’re a light sleeper, do not stay here. Also, no restaurant or room service available. Bathroom needs updating. Shower water kept getting warm then cold, etc.

Great location and very friendly staff (Saya). An option to leav e luggage, complementary water and tea.

Not soundproofed.

Perfect location in the heart of the European part of Istanbul. Exceptionally careful staff. They paid attention to all my requests, so I got everything I needed and even more as I believe that caring attitude is in many cases more important than just a soft bed and a clean room. However, all other components were also at a decent level including comfortable bed, very well functioning air conditioner, good water pressure and quick WiFi.

Would be nice to have a glass for tooth brush and paste, a toilet paper holder in the bathroom, maybe also a tee spoon in the room, the floor could be also cleaned better... However, those are minor details that could easily be improved and have not affected my comfort during my stay in the Independent Hotel Taxim.

Fantastic location right in the heart of Taksim! Easy to get to transportation to the rest of the city. Walking distance to many sights, shops, restaurants, etc.

The location of this hotel is very ideal. It is walking distance to virtually everything, including Istiklal Street, Taksim Taxi rank, the bus stop, the tram, and countless restaurants. However, despite what I didn't like about the hotel, I would return there when I visit Istanbul again !

I expected the room to be much bigger. I would also have preferred more cupboard space (I had to keep most of my clothing in my suitcase, as there were only 3 hangers inside the cupboard for 2 travellers). The door of the bar fridge couldn't close properly, so our "cold" drinks were all room temperature. The TV only worked on our first night, after that it never had any signal for 9 days (despite reporting this to Reception).

The strategic location. The friendly and helpful staff, especially Gökhan, who was always eager to help us with anything that comes up, in addition he was flexible with us and a wonderful host :)

We expected the room to be cleaner and the elevator smells

The location is convenient — just a 15-minute walk from the Taksim bus station, which made getting there from the airport easy. It’s close to a lively street full of shops and restaurants. The price was reasonable, and the cleaning staff was attentive, changing towels and bed sheets daily.

The room we got on arrival was much smaller than in the photos, and we had to wait two days for a bigger one. The area is quite noisy, especially on weekends - earplugs are a must. The room wasn’t very clean either - not terrible, but definitely not spotless. Also, the “discounted” price felt more like the regular value - without it, the place would’ve been overpriced.

Staff amazing and the location is prime

We arrived early and although the booking website said early check in approved yet we couldn't get a room and had to stay from 4 am till 10 am to be checked in. According to the hotel booking didn't inform them.

I stayed 8 nights at this hotel and I highly recommend it!The rooms are spacious, especially compared to those in hotels on Istiklal Street, and very clean.The staff is attentive, responsive, and speaks good English.I hope to visit this hotel again on a future trip!

The location is around the corner of Taksim Square and Istiklal Cd.It has enormous amounts of restaurants around the corner.There is a vast majority of public transport possibilities in the neighbourhood.I liked my room. It was room 101 and it is very spacious. The bathroom is kept adequately clean and has a good shower. On some days it was quite cold and other days I walked very much. A nice hot shower would make me very relaxed again. Further more I would like to complement house keeping for always keeping the utencils adequately filled. Towels were always provided in abundance and also other stuff like water bottles and coffee sachets.

I arrived on the starting day of Eid-ul-Fitr. Due to this occasion there was a party hosted on two consequtive nights. I stayed on the first floor and the club is located underneath. Music from the dance club was noticesably hearable. Luckily I had sleeping pills with me with which I was able to fall a sleep. I told this to Gockhan and he offered me right away a room on the third floor as there was still one vacant.I though would like to emphasize that normally the club isn't open. I stayed a week in the hotel and all the other days the room was very pleaseant.

Beautiful, clean and quiet hotel in the middle of night life in Takism. Very good value for money
